New Law Business Model

Increased value delivery by 340% and boosted productive time from 20% to 80% through comprehensive Agile transformation of the IT group.

01

Challenge

The IT group at New Law Business Model was struggling with inefficiencies, siloed knowledge, and limited collaboration, leading to suboptimal value delivery. The challenge was to transform the team’s work processes to enhance visibility, foster cross-training, and significantly boost overall productivity and value delivery.

02

Action

To address this challenge, I led the Agile transformation of the IT group, focusing on adopting Scrum practices and fostering a collaborative, continuous learning environment. Key actions included:

  • Adopting Scrum Framework: Implemented the Scrum framework, including the establishment of Scrum roles (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Development Team) and ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives).
  • Training and Onboarding: Conducted comprehensive Scrum training sessions to ensure all team members understood the principles, roles, and processes of Scrum.
  • Making Work Visible: Introduced visual management tools such as Jira to make work visible, track progress, and manage the backlog effectively. This transparency helped the team identify bottlenecks and improve workflow.
  • Fostering Collaboration: Encouraged pairing and mob programming to enhance knowledge sharing and cross-training among team members. This approach helped team members learn from each other, gain expertise in new areas, and become more versatile.
  • Continuous Improvement: Led regular retrospectives to reflect on past sprints, identify areas for improvement, and implement actionable feedback. This iterative approach ensured continuous enhancement of processes and practices.
  • Encouraging Experimentation: Promoted a culture of experimentation, allowing team members to explore new technologies and approaches. This initiative fostered innovation and kept the team engaged and motivated.

  • Enhanced Collaboration: Improved team collaboration and knowledge sharing through pairing and mob programming, resulting in a well-rounded, versatile team.
  • Greater Visibility: Enhanced visibility of work and progress through the use of visual management tools, leading to better planning, tracking, and accountability.
  • Continuous Learning: Fostered a culture of continuous learning and improvement, enabling the team to adapt quickly to new challenges and technologies.
  • Higher Engagement: Increased team engagement and motivation by encouraging experimentation and providing opportunities for professional growth.
