School operations portal

Attendance, coverage, families, and incidents in one morning view instead of five spreadsheets.

Who it serves

Heads of school, front-office teams, and small districts running operations on email and shared sheets.

  • Web: morning briefing with attendance, coverage, and family messages
The problem

What goes wrong
without it.

The information a school needs by 8 a.m. exists, scattered across an attendance system, a staff group chat, a family newsletter tool, and a paper visitor log. Nobody sees the whole morning.

What the product would do

  1. Daily attendance and late arrivals, with follow-ups assigned to a person.
  2. Staff coverage: absences, substitute requests, and who has accepted.
  3. Family messaging with delivery and read confirmation.
  4. Incident and visitor logs that satisfy the policy without a binder.
  5. A morning briefing for the head of school, generated from the same records.

Decided before any screen

  • Who sees what, by role: front office, teachers, families, leadership.
  • Which records this portal owns and which stay in the student information system and sync in.
  • How every workflow behaves on a phone, in a hallway, with thirty seconds to act.
Why it suits the method

Specified once.
Built in parallel.

Role-based views over a small number of shared records. Once the permissions model and the record contracts are written, each role's screens are independent work with clear acceptance tests.
